40 Year Celebrations

For Cirque Du Soleil

In early 2024 we were very honored to be part of a collective of creators selected to help celebrate Cirque Du Soleil's 40th anniversary.

What we created was a papercraft animation that brings viewers through some iconic Cirque Du Soleil moments, with nods to notable costumes and characters throughout.

We created each character and element first as vector art and then used that artwork to cnc cut coloured paper. We assembled the puppets together with movable limbs that allowed us to bring them to life on our glass overhead capture stage. We captured a luma matte for each frame which allowed us to efficiently mask the puppets out and composite all the hand crafted and animated elements together in post production.
